How To Be Productive On A Lazy Wednesday

Wednesdays can be extremely lazy for some of us, well, for most of us. Truth is, it’s the middle of the week and most of us are waiting for the weekend. Even when you love what you do, Wednesdays are usually long and tiring. Productivity can be especially hard on a lazy Wednesday. At times we are just slacking and need to know how to be productive. Well, here is your girl to girl guide, and it’s tested by yours truly.

So, how to be productive on a lazy Wednesday? Here is your answer:

1. Have an intention-setting, goal-writing morning routine

Yup, you can’t just be productive on a spontaneous day. The truth is, organization leads productivity. I am not saying you can never be productive if you are spontaneous, some of us can be. But organizing your thoughts helps you be more effective. Hence, if you want to learn how to be productive, you need to also learn how to be effective. So, when you wake up in the morning and grab that cup of coffee or tea, get yourself a notebook and start writing. Listing down exactly what your intentions are for the day and what you want to achieve will help you be more effective. Doing it early morning helps you remember why you need to be productive.

2. Don’t use your phone in the morning

You know what really kills productivity? Scrolling through your IG feed early morning. The thing is, sometimes we look at our phone in the morning, and we see someone relaxing in Ubud. Unfortunately, seeing that in the morning could make you even lazier. Also, envy is bad for your mindset, develop a mindset where you love rich people (Read more about this in The Science of Money by Brian Tracy). Stay away from your phone, get your mindset to be positive, and remember why you do what you do.

3. Set about 3 MUST Dos:

After setting your intentions and goals for the day, this step becomes much easier. Now that you know what your Sunday needs to look like, choose exactly the steps that will lead to it. If you are wondering how to be productive every day, then this step is essential to your success. It’s important to recognize and differentiate between things you need to do and things that can wait. Productivity comes when you realize exactly what are your MUST dos to achieve your daily goals. Set up to 3 MUST dos, and then once you are done with them, make sure to continue on your other goals.

4. Eat healthy food while you are working

Healthy food is essential when you want to be productive. Your mind won’t work if you don’t have good food in your body. Take some time to make yourself some healthy breakfast especially on Wednesday. The right type of energy food will boost your productivity even on a lazy Wednesday. So, how to be productive with food? Get some peanut butter oats with yogurt, a bit of carrots, an apple, drink some orange juice (natural sugars are a must), and have an egg and avocado sandwich. This is by far the best healthy breakfast ever. Keep some dry fruits, protein bars, and carrots on the side to eat throughout the day. Trust me, food makes you SO productive! Also, stay hydrated.

5. Set out time to relax and stretch

Remember that working doesn’t mean forgetting all about your wellbeing. Focusing on how to be productive means learning how to have mental and physical wellness. Remember to have a break every now and then to stretch, breathe, and just relax. It truly makes your brain work better too.

6. Focus on one task at a time

Using the Pomodoro technique will really help you get an edge on work. Basically, focusing on one task for around 25 minutes and then taking a 10-minute break. Obviously, ladies, everyone has a different time span when it comes to concentration. But also, having fixed times to do different tasks helps you stay productive and efficient. And on a lazy Wednesday, the breaks are extremely essential. Some people like doing 40 minutes of work and then a break, just find out what works for you and slay the day Queen.

7. Don’t check the clock, check that list

For some weird reason, and I am sure many of you beauties will agree, Wednesday is LONG! So, try not to check the clock every 5 minutes. Also, the previous step helps a lot in this point. If you keep 25-minute alarms you won’t be curious as to what time it is every other second. Try checking your list of things to do every time you want to check the time. This step can be key to mastering how to be productive on a lazy Wednesday. Checking a list can also be extremely satisfying, and the next point relates exactly to your satisfaction.

8. Reward yourself a little

It’s mid-week and you have accomplished many goals. Reward yourself for showing up and getting things done. Moreover, you are such a Queen for being able to work so productively on a Wednesday. Give yourself a pat on the back or a chocolate or shop for yourself. One of my favorite ways to reward myself is by watching my favorite show while drinking my evening coffee. What makes you happy? Choose to do that for yourself even if you still have a lot of work. A reward system is exactly what you need to stay productive and efficient on a lazy Wednesday.

9. End the day watching some motivational Rachel Talbott videos on how to be productive.

Girls, you have made it to the end of the day and it is officially time to relax and rewire your mind. Make productivity your goal. Productivity will come over time, it’s a skill like all others. So, continue learning how to be productive by watching some Rachel Talbott videos. She is honestly a productivity and organization goddess. Every day you will learn a new way to be more productive, and eventually, the lazy Wednesdays won’t feel that lazy anymore. Just give it time.

10. Write down your goals for tomorrow

Right before you sleep is the best time to get your mindset to be your best friend. Now that you are walking towards Thursday you are probably wondering if you can stay just as productive tomorrow. Well honey, of course, you can. One of my favorite ways to be prepared for a productive tomorrow is by writing down the goals the night before. This helps you wake up in the morning with so much motivation and eagerness to achieve the most.

11. Drink some tea and get some sleep, you got through Wednesday

Now that you know what you are going to do tomorrow it’s time to get some tea (or coffee, or milk) and read a book. Cozying up on a lazy Wednesday night is one of the best feelings in the world. This is also, as mentioned in the previous point, a great time to work on mindset. Write down things you are grateful for, say some affirmations and prayers, listen to a motivating podcast (Manifestation Babe is definitely my favorite) and then go to sleep.

You just mastered how to be productive on a lazy Wednesday.

I also just realized that this list works better for those women who are entrepreneurs, or students or those ladies that work-from-home. However, you can still use most of the list as a 9-to-5 worker or on a day off from the university. Remember, when you are young you can achieve it all. Rest, but don’t waste your time even during a day off.

Here is a list of inspirational books you can read to keep on the productivity. Happy Wednesday.
