So I’ve heard that the yoga world is evolving. Fast and easy. In fact, this ancient practice, that was once almost considered a religion and presented a moral code toward a divine path, has turned into a fun activity everyone wants to try out. Especially millennials.
Yoga Has Been Around For Thousands Of Years, And It Is Still Picking Up Momentum.
Moreover, this generation has now and again been called one of the most stressed out generations of all time. We are busy, and anxious, and overwhelmed. We are the generation that is full of competition. And truth is, we need a method to handle everything. So, it makes sense that millennials are turning to yoga as a solution, it is also pretty accessible and affordable!
There are many different yoga trends that are popping out every other year and a lot of new studios are opening. Now, you can find one studio in every other neighborhood in big cities as well as some small cities. Classes are waitlisted, mats are sold in every sports store, clothing brands are making their special yoga wear collection… In Hollywood and New York people even queue for classes with their favorite guru. More so, if you prefer being at home, you can easily find video tutorials explaining different poses and helping you walk through it all at minimal costs.
I guess millennials are somewhat obsessed with their health, and hence also with yoga. Our Instagram feeds are full of yoga positions and more and more people knows how to do handstands. I confess I’m a little jealous. I want to do a handstand too… So why not try it out, and see how it is going to feel like? Some stretching, breathing exercises, relaxing poses and we’d be building some muscle. Yup, I am totally convinced I need yoga in my life now.

1. Power Yoga:
The key component of power yoga is cardio. So get ready for standing postures. You will be using your legs a lot to put your heart rate up. There will be some tuneful music accompanying your movements since you’re going to be moving from one flow to another.
I am sure this is the one trend you have definitely heard of before. Acro-yoga combines acrobatics and yoga. It is a partner practice and involves more elevated and inverted poses in which you work together with your partner. While it’s much more dynamic, it also emphasizes on values like trust and being part of a community.
3. Hot Yoga:
Expect heat and candles ladies. Hot yoga is going to make you sweat a lot more than regular yoga since you will be practicing in 90 degrees. Why the heat you ask? Well, because it allows you to stretch yourself a little more. But there is a lot of sweating involved, so remember to stay hydrated throughout.
