Traveling is made to be such a romantic image: the Jetset life, the ongoing travels and looking awesome in every single picture. Well, as amazing as it sounds, it is not easy to be fit when you travel. The long hours in airplanes, unhealthy food, and those local sweets and drinks make it hard to keep up with our regular exercise and diet.
But, don’t worry, here at She TheQueen, we have a solution to all your problems. After reading this article, you don’t need to resist all the lovely local treats. You can continue enjoying all the fun and adventure.
Usually getting some exercise isn’t a big issue as you keep moving and walking a lot while exploring. However, it is nice to stay in shape and exercise regularly. Exercise also helps your mind and your biorhythm to stay sane while you are exposed to so many new experiences. And let’s be honest, some of those experiences aren’t the most comfortable. The best part is, with all the new technology it is now so much easier to jump out of bed and start being healthy.
How you ask? Well, get your crowns, ladies, because here are my favorite workout apps for the days of travel.
1. Just 7 Minutes of Workout
The “7 Minutes” app workouts became so famous that at one point everyone was using it. I can talk from experience as I was using this app a lot during my travels, especially during my time in Brasil. While I was swamped, I used to only get a maximum of 7 minutes every day, and this app will for sure help you stay fit when you travel as it did with me.
2. WeBurn– The App That Will Definitely Keep You Fit When You Travel
I love this app, and I am using it every day now. It doesn’t matter if I am at home or traveling. It consists of different exercise units to train your whole body. You can choose from any body part you want to focus on, be it your full body, legs, glutes, arms or cardio. Each one has several exercises and takes around 10-15 minutes, and you also get a video for each one so you can see how it works. You can even get motivational music within the app, which is pretty awesome. Some of the workouts are free, and some cost a little bit of money, but it is totally worth it!
WeBurn gives you the option to set alarms and challenges and makes the workout extra fun, go try it out, you will not regret this fitastic decision.
3. Yoga 8
After a long trip in a plane, car or train, I need to run or get a little meditation. When I discovered the Yoga8 app, I admired it instantly because I got to do yoga in between trips or after waking up in a new environment. It is simple and offers you a couple of different yoga units and some of them free. If you are like me, just doing occasional Yoga will keep you fit when you travel.
So, there is one thing you should know about me. I love walking! I walk everywhere; I am that one friend that makes you walk all the way across town because I think it is not that far. And if you don’t have that friend, you just got one with Stepz! It is a great App to count your steps. Since I don’t own a Fitbit or smartwatch yet, this is my favorite tool. It counts your steps quite accurately and has fun rewards like telling you when you reached London walking. Once you have turned it on you will never stop walking, it’s the best way to stay fit when you travel.
5. Last but not least: Runtastic
Runners and those who want to become runners, this is your app. And not just for running, but the fact that you can measure many activities with it. Runtastic helps you to keep track of your activity, and the GPS function shows you exactly which route you took. It is ideal for discovering new cities and keeping track of your path later. It’s great because you can come back to have a closer look to places you might have just passed by, but that has caught your eye. So this app will be doing a lot more than keeping you fit when you travel.
So, ladies grab your phone and your suitcase and have a great trip. Now, you don’t even have to worry about falling out of shape! Also click here to read a guide on beginner’s workouts.
Until next time.
